Can we meet you?
My name is Ifeoma Nnewuihe and I’m a 300 level student of English, Arts, Unilag. I’m also a fashion enthusiast and designer.
Lol. It’s really funny. I wanted to stretch my relaxer late 2013, say August and from there I started checking blogs on how to grow hair long and fast, bglh was my go to site because they gave such good advice. Then on the 17th of January I big chopped and everybody in my family was calling me fine boy. So basically I’ve been natural for a year and five months.
Reactions to your going natural?
My mother really liked the fact that I cut my hair because she said it made me look younger. So did my dad. My siblings were indifferent but my course mates were another story. They all felt that they had individual opinions about my hair!
Special name? nahhh
Describe your hair
I’m an olodo where hair typing is involved and after a year you’d think I’d be a pro at typing but no. I just notice that I have looser curls at the very back of my head.
What is your hair care regimen?
Wash weekly with dudu osun black soap, condition with VO5 calming chamomile tea. Deep condition with mayonnaise and moisturize daily with water, coconut oil, castor oil and olive oil in a spray bottle. After that I seal with shea butter mixed with peppermint oil. My hair loooves shea butter.
I think it’s Shea butter and my eco styler gel.
What are your hair goals?
Initially when I went natural it was length and it still is but I think having healthy hair has topped that of late.
Hair care doesn’t have to be overwhelming and you don’t need all the expensive products in the world. sure you can give yourself a treat from time to time but keep it cheap and simple. I know you’re tired of hearing this but MOISTURE is indeed everything!
Moisture sure is everything! Thanks Ifeoma !
